Douglas Animal Hospital
The doctors and staff are passionate about all animals. When it comes to wildlife, the clinic works with the public as a location to take small injured, displaced or sick wildlife. The wildlife is admitted and assessed by our veterinarians and technicians, diagnostics are performed if indicated, and treatments are performed.
If the animal can be rehabilitated, our technician Courtney is trained to start the process and then get them to the Atlantic Wildlife Institute.
How it Works
Before Coming to the Clinic
If you find injured or sick wildlife, consider your safety first. Before handling, call us at (506) 458-5944 for advice, the appropriate steps to take. Fill out the wildlife intake form and follow any additional instructions our team may give you.
At the Clinic
Once at the clinic, a staff member will verify the information on the intake form and will admit the wildlife.
While we appreciate the concern, bringing the wildlife to the clinic is the best thing for the public to do. Due to the volume of calls, we do not give updates on wildlife. They are taken to the appropriate places for ongoing care.
